The FN 509 Tactical , a member of the Fn 509 family and an expansion of the FN 509 line, is based on the FN submission pistol that the U.S. Army evaluated for its Modular Handgun Trials but incorporates the considerable design changes made in the FN 509. The FN 509 Tactical pistol is equipped with the firm’s U.S. Patent No. 10/352,654 Low-Profile Optics Mounting SystemTM, which enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available miniature red dot (MRD) optics that cooperate with the suppressor-height night sights and remain adaptable to future optics releases without necessitating direct slide milling.

The FN509 Tactical for sale slide cover includes raised sight wings that safeguard iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or jostled and offers a textured ramp for use when shooting without an optic to use the slide as a rack against a belt loop, pocket, or boot. The top end is completed by a FN-signature 4.5-inch stainless steel barrel with target crown, 12″ x 28 threads that take the majority of 9mm suppressors on the market, and a thread cover with an incorporated O-ring to prevent loosening while in operation.
